Fit Club For WomenTeam Member: Francie

Personal Trainer

What made you decide to become a personal trainer?

I was always interested in medicine, health, and fitness. When I got to college I enjoyed studying the sciences and exercise physiology in particular.  Becoming a personal trainer seemed like a natural fit to combine my love of fitness and helping other people obtain maximum health and wellness through lifestyle changes, diet  and exercise.

How long have you been training and where did you get started?

I got a job right out of college ( a very long time ago!) in corporate fitness in San Francisco working at Standard Oil and Shaklee. I worked at multiple fitness centers after that in SF, the East Bay, and Marin in varying capacities (training, fitness testing, working in health and wellness programs). After taking some time off to raise my 2 kids, I returned to the field at Fit Club For Women!

What do you like most about working at Fit Club For Women?

Fit Club is a great community of women who are accomplished, determined and fun. The group dynamic provides a very supportive and competitive atmosphere and the camaraderie is unique. It is rewarding to see people making such positive lifestyle changes.

What do you like to do when you are outside of the studio?

When I am not swimming, running, or biking, I enjoy dancing to live music, all things Italian, solving crossword puzzles, and the beach.

What fitness certifications have you acquired?

NASM Personal Trainer Certification with specializations in Women's Fitness, Nutrition, and Corrective Exercise.
CPR and AED certified.

What is your greatest physical fitness achievement?

I would say qualifying for the United States Triathlon Series Nationals which I attended in South Carolina. It was a grueling event ( a hurricane just missed the coast making for a challenging swim) but a very meaningful milestone for me.
