What is your greatest physical fitness achievement?
My greatest physical fitness achievement would be that I have run five marathons and finished my last marathon, the San Francisco Marathon in 1987 in3 hours and 20 minutes - qualifying for the Boston Marathon!
Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Marin County?
My parents settled in Marin County and I was born and raised in San Anselmo.
What made you decide to become a personal trainer?
My training path started after the birth of both my daughters, I had become involved in their sports throughout their childhood - coaching and training. As such, I realized my passion for helping the youth running community in Marin. This transitioned over the years into helping people of all ages with their desire physical fitness. I find it rewarding helping people reach their goals.
What do you like most about working at Fit Club For Women?
I enjoy working at Fit Club For Women because the intimate group training gives me the ability to get to know my clients on a more personal level. I feel that the women who come work out with us get a more personalized fitness path tailored to their needs a well as a sense of community. I like knowing everyone by name!
What would we be surprised to know about you?
I have been certified as a USATF (Us Track and Field) Nationally Ranked Official for the past 11 years, officiating most track and field events at UC Berkeley and Stanford.
What do you like to do when you are outside of the studio?
I have an affinity for horses and I often volunteer at the Halleck Creek therapeutic riding ranch in Nicasio.
What fitness certifications have you acquired?
National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF). I am also AED and CPR certified.
