DESCRIPTION:So many of our daily aches and pains are caused by problems with our posture\, how we hold our bodies and move through our daily lives. Our spine is a series of small bones and if these bones are not stacked properly\, if something is out of alignment\, stress develops and the fine balance between the multiple systems of our body is thrown off. These imbalances can affect strength and endurance\, digestion\, sleep patterns\, even your emotional state. \nDuring our hands on workshop I will show you simple stretches and exercises that will help alleviate pain and weakness and improve your posture which will make you look and feel younger and more attractive! Strengthening core muscles\, improving flexibility and fine-tuning your gait will reduce strain in your back and neck which can improve the quality of your life. \nSo much improves when we treat our body with kindness. The greatest joys can come from even the simplest of daily pleasures when we feel fit and healthy.

It addresses the root cause of most muscle and joint pain\, because you have a right to a pain-free back\, neck\, hips\, knees\, feet… \nWe are marvelously designed animals. We have inherent grace and strength\, like every other creature on the planet. Our bodies strive to heal themselves\, and if we respect our natural design\, we can function well for close to a century. \nMost pain can be attributed to how we hold ourselves and how we move. Since we aren’t born with a user’s manual\, we rely on our culture to guide us. About a century ago\, our culture took a wrong turn.\nAs a result\, in the United States: \n\n90% of adults experience back pain at some point in their lives.\nThis year\, 50% of working Americans will experience back pain.\nBack pain is now the leading cause of disability in people under 45 years old.\nBy age 15\, more than 60% of all adolescents have experienced back and/or neck pain.\n\nWe have lost sight of what constitutes healthy posture; in fact\, many popular guidelines for “good posture” are just plain wrong. DESCRIPTION:About the ITP Kata \nThe ITP Kata is a series of movements that embodies the definition of practice itself: it is an\nactivity that\, for all of its benefits\, is done on a regular basis primarily for its own sake\, because\nit is the path upon which you walk. \nThe series of mind-body-spirit exercises comprising the Kata are the core of ITP. The\nmovements are intended to articulate all the muscle groups and joints in the body and to offer\nan opportunity for deep rhythmic breathing\, relaxation\, transformational imaging and\nmeditation. The Kata was created by Aikido sensei and human potential pioneer\, George\nLeonard\, as a daily practice\, intended to tap our latent capacities and to provide the experience\nof living a vital\, joyful and fulfilling life. \nThe word Kata (kah-tah) is Japanese and means “form.” The ITP Kata was designed to be\nperformed in 40 minutes\, each element blending into the next\, without a sense of haste.
